Why Do I See a Small Pending Charge When Booking?
Updated over 3 months ago

When you book a hotel through Apogee Travel, you may notice a small pending transaction (approximately $0.50) on your debit or credit card. This is a standard pre-authorization we perform to ensure your card is valid and can be used for the booking.

Important to Know:

  • This is not an actual charge. The amount will not be deducted from your account.

  • The pre-authorization is temporary and will disappear from your statement shortly, typically within a few days, depending on your bank.

We use this process to validate your card without charging you. Rest assured, the amount will never be processed as a final charge.

Why Do We Do This?

The small pre-authorization helps us protect against fraud by confirming that the card being used is active and belongs to you. This step allows us to verify your booking securely without processing a full charge.
